There is an art to applying Mac eye shadow but it is one that can be easily learned. Mac Cosmetics are wildly popular and for good reason. Their Mac eye shadow is well known for beautiful colors that last. It comes in seven different finished and hundreds of colors.

Step 2
Your lips should be the last step when applying makeup and your eyes should be the next to the last step. Apply your moisturizers and face makeup including blush before you begin applying your Mac eye shadow.
Step 2
Before applying your Mac eye shadow color you need to apply Mac Eye Shadow Prep & Prime primer. Using a primer is the secret to your eye makeup staying in place. Apply your primer to the entire lid area.
Step 3
You may apply your Mac eye shadow with either your fingers or their line of brushes. There are several brushed that are suitable for use with shadows in their line. A good job can be done with the 224 tapered blending brush and the 231 small shader for more controlled application.
Step 4
You need three colors of Mac eye ehadow. The base is the color that is applied to the entire lid area. It it often a neutral color like Shroom and is applied first. The secret to blending your colors is to go from light to dark.
Step 5
The next color is the medium tone and it is applied to the crease of the eye lid and blended down toward the lash line.
Step 6
The third Mac eye shadow color is the darkest color and is applied to the outer lid and blended into the crease. You should be working to blend your colors as you apply them at every step. You want to avoid lines where one color stops and another begins.
Step 7
If you want a little extra punch you can add a highlight under the brows on the brow bone blending down towards the color in the crease.
Step 8
You would finish your eyes by adding eyeliner then mascara if desired. You now have the Mac eye shadow look.
